Looked Over

The Milky Way Galaxy

I think I’ll keep the outer-space theme going because I love it so much. There are all kinds of things that I could say about our home-galaxy like how enormous it is or that it has a super-massive black hole in the middle of it, but these things are all common knowledge. No. What I want to talk about is WAY more awesome. Last year, astronomers were searching the enormous dust cloud in the center of the Milky Way with a massive radio telescope for signs of the building blocks of life. Unfortunately they didn’t find any, but they did find “ethyl formate”. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the chemical makeup of raspberries (i hope you fall into this category), this is the chemical that gives them their flavor. It’s also the chemical that gives rum its smell. So, while searching the heart of the galaxy for signs of life, astronomers ended up discovering that the Milky Way tastes like raspberries and smells like rum. The Milky Way is basically the Glade Plug-in of the universe.
